You are what you eat. You've probably heard this so many times. Just as this stands true for our body, it's same for our skin. What we consume affects our skin. So, how do we get and maintain healthier and glowing skin? Here are some tips to help
1. Drink a lot of water
Water generally is good for our overall wellbeing but it works well for our skin as well. Drink a lot of water during the day to help get rid of toxins in the body as well as maintain the elasticity of the skin. This makes the skin look younger and healthier.
2. Be consistent with your skin care regimen
Being consistent with your skin care regimen helps improve the general health of your skin, just like being consistent with everything else comes with great benefits. Refrain from changing skin care products too often and stick to a regimen which works for you.
3. Take off your makeup each day
One of the worst things you can do to your skin is to sleep with makeup. If you're fond of that, repent!. Take off your makeup at the end of the day. Leaving it on clogs your pores which could lead to breakouts and acne. Save yourself the trouble and take it off. It'll only take a few minutes.
If apart from moisturizing your skin you don't do anything else at all, you should strive to exfoliate two to three times a week. Doing so helps clear your pores from dirt particles and impurities which could lead to the formation of acne. It also helps get rid of dead skin cells for newer skin to form. Imagine how radiant your skin will be after exfoliating on a consistent basis.
5. Be Intentional About What You Eat
There are some types of foods which helps give our skin that natural glow. First off, reduce your sugar intake. With that gone, try to eat a balanced diet every single day. If you're on a diet, make sure you have a lot of healthy fats and Vitamin C in your food.
These are a few tips on getting that natural glow. It might seem a lot at first but just take baby steps and be consistent with it. You'll eventually get that natural glow. Don't give up
