Believe it or not, what you ingest has an effect on your skin. Eating the right foods saves us from a lot of damage control later on. Avocados
The good news is, these are in season. Often referred to as pear in our part of the world, avocados are rich in healthy fats which keeps the skin moisturized and flexible. It also has a lot of Vitamin E which serves as an antioxidant. You can add it to almost any food platter of your choice.
Sweet Potatoes
Who doesn't love sweet potatoes? It has Beta Carotene which functions as pro Vitamin A. It keeps your skin healthy and serves as a natural sun screen. When consumed in large quantities, it gives your skin a nice orange shade which makes you glow.
Tomatoes
Who knew our very own tomatoes had so much benefits for the skin? It contains a lot of Vitamin C. It's also rich in carotenoids which is good especially if you want to want to maintain healthier skin.
Dark Chocolate
We just got one more reason to eat more chocolate. Consuming cocoa powder high in antioxidants leaves the skin more hydrated, less scaly and less susceptible to wrinkles. For best results, go in for dark chocolate with more than 70% cocoa in it.
Red Grapes
Slow down aging with red grapes. They are a good source of resveratrol which slows down the physical effects of aging including wrinkles and formation of fine lines. The awesome thing is resveratrol is also found in red wine. Unfortunately, there isn't a lot of research done around the number of glasses one has to drink before experiencing the benefits of resveratrol.
Green Tea
A lot of people are fans of black tea compared to green tea. If you're of such people, get ready to be mesmerized with the benefits of drinking green tea. Green tea contains compounds known as catechins which helps in giving the skin a healthier look. Drinking more green tea, without milk, helps improve the moisture and elasticity of the skin.
